Titans Win 3rd Straight Game at Home PDF Print E-mail

The Vancouver Titans once again defended their home court as they defeated the Snohomish Explosion 130 - 115 in IBL action Saturday night in Langley. The win moves Vancouver into a tie with the Explosion for second place in the IBL's North division.  James Hudson led the charge for the home team with the first triple double of his IBL career. The North Vancouver native poured in 19 points, dished out 10 assists and hauled in 11 rebounds while only turning the ball over twice.

The two teams traded baskets throughout the first half with the Titans taking the early lead. Snohomish was able to pull even by playing small ball in the second quarter, and with five guards the Explosion were able to penetrate the Titans defence to take a 56-50 half time lead.  The Titans came out recharged to start the second half, and it was all Vancouver as the hometown team torched the visitors for 80 points in the final two frames. Seven Titans reached double digits with Kyle Keyes once again leading all scorers Vancouver scorers with 29 on a 50% shooting night. Matt Rachar and Emmy Unaegbu both dropped 17 points. The two Titans forwards also drew the tough assignment of defending the IBL`s leading scorer Devon Greene who finished the night with 38 points on 14 of 35 shooting.

The win marks the third in a row for the expansion Titans, and matches the winning streak the Titans started the season on. With the win the Titans improve to 7-11 for the season.

The next home game is Friday June 19th against the Seattle Mountaineers with the tip off at 7:15 pm.
