President’s Message

Welcome from the President

To all British Columbia Basketball fans,

Welcome to our 2nd year of operations and the official website of the BC Titans! We recently changed our name from the Vancouver Titans to reflect our dedication to developing the game for all BC players and fans to enjoy!!!

The Titans first year was monumental as the team not only delivered a great experience for our fans, we were able to achieve the play-offs. As with any first year of operations there were many challenges and obstacles to be overcome – but the Titans were able to achieve that. The focus for the first year was all about delivering a product on the floor that was not only competitive in the IBL, but was able to achieve that level of competitiveness relying on predominantly local BC talent. This was achieved as the final roster featured not less than 11 BC players complimented with 3 US players and the balance with athletes from other parts of Canada. There are virtually no opportunities for BC players to develop their game beyond the CIS, College and NCAA levels of competition – so we are proud to be able to provide this avenue.

In year two we expect to continue the same commitment to BC players and are hopeful that the business community and Lower Mainland basketball fans will support this vision.
We will continue to develop a professional basketball product on the floor that will provide excellent entertainment value delivered in a first class facility. If you saw one of our games last year and enjoyed it please invite your friends, family and business contacts to come enjoy one of our games in 2010. Help support the development of basketball in BC!!!!

Our league, the International Basketball League (“IBL”) has established the best formula for operating a minor league professional basketball team in the Pacific Northwest. Their combined initiatives of games featuring fast paced non-stop action and geographical team clustering results in a formula that creates exciting experiences for the spectator while curtailing expenses to help create a sustainable enterprise. The IBL is entering their 6th year of operations with 18 teams, including teams from the USA, Canada, Japan and China.

I look forward to seeing you at our Home games!!!
